The focus of this program is to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low performing schools. Tutorial services and academic enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as reading and math. In addition 21st CCLC programs provide youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, technology education programs, art, music and recreation programs, counseling and character education to enhance the academic component of the program.
This program begins October 19th, 2009.Clearances are needed participate.Times:
Monday to Thursday: 3:30-5:30, at Robb Elementary and Central Mountain Middle School (CMMS). 3:30-4:30 is tutoring time. It mainly focuses on Math and Reading, but there is also writing, health, and several other subjects.
4:30-5:30 is activity time. Activities vary, but some examples might include cooking, photography, scrapbooking, karate, dodgeball, and other sport/craft related areas. It will depend on the school and several other factors.
There is no tutoring during scheduled holidays and days off on the KCSD calendar. In case of cancellation, please see the KCDS website (
